About Me	Man where do I start. Right now I am a student in game at the “wonderful” TAFE institute in South Australia. Working on a second mod project, 8th HOUR, with my team from TAFE called BLACK FLAMINGO. All I really want to do is work for a no BS games company. This being my final year of my course, the team and I have been working hard to get our mod to AVcon, and now we are now working our way to the big GCAP coming soon.

What game industry job are aiming for?

Well my skills lay in 3d modeling and texture work, have skills in unreal. The stuff I like to work on is environmental stuff and props, not enough skills in character modeling yet

jUnfortunately I don’t know a whole lot about breaking in as an artist. Do you have an art-related 4 year college degree? My understanding is that you should get one of those, and a kick-ass portfolio. Once you’ve got the skills to make things as high-quality as the models you see in games, and you have a portfolio to prove it, it’s just a matter of networking and applying for jobs.

Thanks for the help kate, heard most of this stuff before and doing it now, but I do have a mate who is looking to get into game programming any suggestions?
