Halo: Reach = TribesI always knew Halo wouldn't exist if it weren't for Tribes. But with Reach they seem to know longer care for hiding their influence. Behold: jetpacks. http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/haloreach/video/6252752?hd=1 |

Funny, I've heard that a lot today. And this morning I thought Bungie was being original (for once). Joking aside, it's good to see Halo expanding it's multi-player in anyway. Jetpacks are always cool. |

Really? I'm glad you've heard that because I've been reading a lot of comments, and it seemed like most people are completely oblivious of what I think was the greatest online game ever. There have always been similarities, but when I see a spartan with a jetpack on his back and holding a flag...that's pure Tribes. So you could say I'm a bit angry that I've seen very few people make the connection. Having said that--and this isn't just because of the Tribes similarities--I haven't been more excited for an online game since, well, ever. I've always felt what made Halo Halo was the large battles with vehicles, heavy weapons, and general chaos, which isn't at all represented in your typical 4v4 matches. It's more about being surgically precise with your BR and sniper rifle, and climbing the ranks (or skill, rather). Of course this is what the hardcore players love, but I really don't think that's what Halo's about, IMO. So seeing this video has me extremely excited. And if it's true that that "Active Roster" ad in the video means drop in/out gameplay, I'm going weep little a girl who just saw a Jonas Brothers concert. |

At first I didn't really think anything of it but after you wrote:
it really clicked. You are totally right that is straight from Tribes but to be honest I think it is a good thing. Garage Games does not appear to be interested in making console versions of Tribes. Reach could actually turn out to be pretty good so I am going to give it a chance. |

Its not that they are the same they are just taking what worked for tribes and incorporating it into their game which stands alone as a killer game with or with out jet packs. |
