There seems to be a lot of Inglourious Basterds love in this thread. Epic!
Anyone else think that Zoller (the Nazi in Nations Pride) looks like Billy Corgan from The Smashing Pumpkins?

All time favorites are really hard for me to pick but... I'll go with Secondhand Lions.
My favorite recent movie is probably James Cameron's Avatar.
Also... Inglorious Bastards > Inglourious Basterds.

I don't have an all-time favourite movie, but I do have an all-time favourite director: Peter Weir. Truman Show, The Mosquito Coast, Master & Commander, Dead Poets Society.. all modern day masterpieces. The way he mixes traditional values with liberal thinking makes my soul all warm & fuzzy inside (do souls have insides?). Plus, he can make me all teary-eyed with a shot of iguanas. On a rock.
As for "current" movies, I'm very fond of The Fountain (despite it being somewhat shallow — I just want that biosphere), Encounters at the End of the World (coming from another industry great, Werner Herzog) & There Will Be Blood, although I can't say that the latter was a pleasant viewing experience. The imagery (and acting) stuck in my mind, though. Same goes for The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Some unbelievable camera / character work.
And yeah, Dark Knight, The was scary as hell (for the first time since my childhood, I was actually afraid of the bad guy). I love the fact that Nolan made it to the big league. Which brings me to another rising star, Neill Blomkamp. District 9 is Cameron on.. fresh ideas?

My current is probably a tie between District 9 and Up, which was actually a pretty good movie.

in the context of this film, a Video Journalist. It's about burmese dudes secretly capturing and smuggling out video of the 2007 monk uprising in Burma. Really powerful stuff. Makes you look at a cellphone camera differently.

I love Sci-Fi. I can't get enough of it. 2009 was absolutely amazing for the genre (Star Trek, even though I'm a Star Wars guy, then there's District 9, and of course Avatar was great).
I can't pick just one, but if i had to name a few, they would be Jurassic Park (Dinosaurs were my childhood), Star Wars IV, V, and VI, Pulp Fiction, District 9, just too many to put here.
