Bioshock 2 Multiplayer Is Actually GoodI wasn't expecting it to be any good; imagine my surprise when I loaded it up and actually had fun. The leveling system is great. Plasmids change the way you approach multiplayer. The audio logs sound fantastic and add personality to the characters you play. What do you guys think? Like it, don't like it, or couldn't care less? |

I like it. Good incorporation of story into it. Too bad I'm knee deep in MAG to put any real time into any other multiplayers though... |

Yes, it is fun. Nothing better then grabbing the Big Daddy suit :3 |

I agree. Multiplayer is decent. My only complain is I would like a smoother framerate at times. |

Great way to put MP in a SP only franchise (at least in the first game). I was imagining it like a good game, hope that some little flaws can be taken cared of. |

I enjoyed it, a bit rocky at first but what game isn't. It has some great levels and some awesome weapon combination plus plenty of achievements to unlock for doing various things. I still would of preferred an online co-op though. |

I just got the game today and the multiplayer really is a lot of fun. One thing that i have had happen to me twice though is freezing in between matches has anyone ever had this happen to them? |

Been playing a little bit more of B2 multiplayer lately, this hasn't happened at all to me. Which console are you playing on? |

I like it. I got to level 45 and just got bored. I have this crazy idea that team-based games should be played with teamwork. This doesn't happen in B2's MP, I'm also knee-deep in MAG right now. I can overlook a few technical problems, and it was fun ranking up a splicer online. My favorite part was the apartment. They could've done so much with that. |

Ya the apartment seemed like it would be important at first but it really didn't mean much overall. I am currently only about level 17 so I am still unlocking new plasmids/guns/etc. I am sure that once I level up some more the novelty may ware off. |

My biggest gripe with BS2 mp is some of the higher level players feel so much more powerful than someone who's just starting out. For example the insect swarm plasmid is tough to defend against, the only way to stop it from killing you is to swing your melee weapon and while you're doing that you're getting shot up, so 9 times out of 10 you're going to die. Also some of the weapons I haven't unlocked seem to take me down soo quickly compared to what I've got. Otherwise its a decent multiplayer, better than I expected. The apartment seems to just be an interactive menu, you can access all the things you can do from the regular menu. They could have done something a little more interesting with that cause after the initial checking it out I've never returned to it. |

I agree about the apartment and the advantage to higher level players but another thing i have noticed is just how some of the weapons appear to not be as balanced as they should be. I have had moments when I wouldn't run up to an enemy and shoot him right in the back with a shogun and he does not die instantly it may take 2-3 shots. I have even had a time where the person whipped around and shot me in the face with something and I died instantly... You can imagine my shock. Weapon damage as well as health does not appear to be balanced enough. It is fine for an arcade style game but I just never envisioned that would be that case for a game like Bioshock. |

I really enjoy the multi-player part of BioShock2. It's odd though a lot of my FPS friends don't have the game or haven't even tried to play either of the games. The BioShock series is high on my list of favorite games. |

Sure it's real laggy but once you get past that (ignore the lag) then it is actually quite fun. |

HEh. Rybow - What do you know about the MP in Bioshock 2? I bet you have played more than...what....300 hours total? 400? That's hardly enough to form a worthwhile opinion. |

It was buggy, would freeze my xbox, and no play list just for the those who bought the dlc maps made it a frustrating experience at times. |

The long waiting times, freezing, and never being able to play the maps you purchased. It's still fun if you have a good group of friends. |

Yep. I rarely play alone anymore. I usually play with members from the 2K forums...that way, I can still have fun. |

I'm still waiting for the playlists so I can get my achievements, then I'll probably never play it again. I generally don't bother with multiplayer much - on account of the sheer volume of asshattery involved - so I really wanted to enjoy a BioShock multiplayer game. Lo and behold! It's full of 14-year-old glory hounds - just like every other multiplayer game I've played. The attention that's been paid to it since release has been abismal, which doesn't help either. |

So I fired this up last night for the first time in awhile and had an absolute blast. I tried it a few times previously but couldn't get into it due to other MP games taking up my time...but having gotten sick of those this was a real breath of fresh air. The twistedness of the selectable characters, running around as splicers committing violent acts on each other during the Rapture Civil War circa 1959, the use of plasmids alongside the guns and overall ambiance and gritty darkness makes this a truly unique MP experience. I mean come on...when I'm on a killstreak my character screams "I haven't done this well since I was single!" coming from a 50's housewife style toon with a frying pan as a melee weapon thats pretty damn funny. If anyone's interested and has the PS3 version, hit me up and we'll whoop it up. PSN: drewjamicks |
